Clyde Malone Community Center

A heritage of service since 1955

The Clyde Malone Community Center was founded in 1955 through a reorganization of the Lincoln Urban League (the League). Initially founded during a time in our history when civil rights for African Americans were extremely limited, the League founders, both black and white, were determined to improve social and economic conditions and increase understanding between all races. They believed that enhanced understanding between all groups of people would create a better community. For decades the Malone Center has served neighboring families, youth, seniors and the Lincoln community with inclusive "social, cultural, education, employment and welfare" services.

It's hard to imagine that the 2010 summer vacation is coming to an end... the days are still long and warm, sleeping-in continues to be the fashion and you may still have another road trip in store. Call about our Afterschool Program. We provide some great resources to prepare your children for a happy and successful school year.  Monday – Friday we pick our program participants up from school and bring them to the Center, where we have a snack after arrival. At the Center we provide:

•   Academic support (help w/homework, tutoring – one-on-one  & group,
     focus on special needs etc.)
•   Structured recreation.
•   Arts& crafts.
•   Computer & fun time.
•   Education on health and nutrition.
•   Cultural awareness.
